Reinhard B. Birk, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, April 15, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born June 30, 1911, at Tilsit, the son of Albert and Caroline Loos Birk.
He married Bessie Irene Thomas on March 8, 1946, at Cape Girardeau. She died on July 2, 1993.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. He was a lifelong resident of Cape Girardeau County. He worked at International Shoe Co. and the Florsheim factory, retiring in 1975 as a foreman.
Survivors include a son, Tom Young of Jackson; two daughters, Phyllis Lukefahr and Joyce Leming of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Norma Dambach and Lillian Birk of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandchild.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. David Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
