STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. -- Rebecca "Becky" Shackelford, 57, of Ste. Genevieve, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Monday, May 16, 2011, at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital in Ste Genevieve.

She was born Sept. 7, 1953, in Cape Girardeau, to Russell Harris and Mona Alberta Gregory Hill.

She and Ronald J. Shackelford were married April 14, 2000, at Cape Girardeau.

Becky worked in nursing homes as a certified nurse assistant.

She was a member of VFW Post 3838 Auxiliary and Eagles Aerie 3775 Auxiliary, both in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald J. Shackelford of Ste. Genevieve; one son, William Shackelford of St. Louis; one daughter, Kristen Snyder of Fredericktown, Mo.; five brothers, Russell Harris Hill Jr., David Hill of Cape Girardeau, Richard Hill of San Antonio, Michael Wayne Hill, Charles Hill of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Karen Cook of Cape Girardeau; a nephew, James Allen Cook of Cape Girardeau; nieces, Melanie Watkins of Cape Girardeau, Tommie Elkins of Cape Girardeau, Clara Ross of Denver; three grandchildren, Morgan, Gunther and Sydney Brunk; mother-in-law, Dorothy Shackelford of St. Louis; two sisters-in-law, Pam Mousseau of Shelby, N.C., Debbie Rose of Warsaw, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Patricia Hill; and a son-in-law, Michael Brunk.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ron McKinley officiating.

Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
