Raymond M. Voges, 81, of Jackson died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 22, 1923, at Tilsit, son of Martin August and Flora L.M. Siebert Voges. He and Kay Byrne were married Feb. 3, 1961, in Cape Girardeau.
Voges was owner and operator of a service station and wrecker service in Cape Girardeau more than 30 years, and after retiring worked 10 years for Meyer Supply Co. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel and served on the board. He was a member of American Legion Post 63 and VFW Post 3838, and former member of Rotary Club.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star, Victory Ribbon and three overseas bars.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Scott Voges of Cincinnati, Ohio, Steven Brightwell of Fenton, Mo.; a sister, Aileen Schaefer of Cape Girardeau; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons mount Auburn funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon, and at Good Shepherd Chapel from 1 p.m. to service time.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. Barry Pfanstiel officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park with military rites by Missouri Honor Team.
