PARIS, Mo. -- Raymond Gene Redfering, 60, of Paris, and formerly of East Prairie, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 1997, at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Mo.
He was born June 9, 1937, in New Madrid County, the son of Raymond James and Violet Christine Blyzes. He married Martha Londrie in Clark County, Mo., on Oct. 10, 1978.
He worked for Boilermaker Local 27 in St. Louis before retiring. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 307 AF and AM in New London, a past master of Monroe City Lodge 64 AF and AM, Eastern Star Monroe City Chapter 390, past district deputy grand master District 17 and Marion County Coonhunters Club.
He is survived by his wife; his mother, of East Prairie; two daughters, Arlene Lane of Joplin and Ramona Call of Cape Girardeau; a son, Christopher E. Redfering of Brentwood; two stepdaughters, Deborah Vanhoose of Hannibal and Linda Woodson of New London; two brothers, Ronald Redfering of O'Fallon and Jerry Redfering of East Prairie; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Shelby Chapel with Bros. Fred Ritter and David Dowdy officiating. Burial will be in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
