Raymond E. Myers Jr., 64, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Life Care Center.

He was born May 6, 1948, in Hannibal, Mo., to Raymond E. and Eugenia Warren Myers. His parents passed away in 2009 and 2010.

Ray graduated from Hannibal High School in 1966, and attended Southeast Missouri State University.

He served in the United States Navy on the USS John F. Kennedy four years during the Vietnam War.

He had lived and worked in Cape Girardeau since his family moved here in 1970.

Ray is survived by six sisters and two brothers, Lucinda (Steve Rose) Myers, Pat (Ron) Clifton, Kathy Myers, Mary (Bob) Pollack, Martha (Jim) Fellows, John (Pam) Myers, Jennie (Mike Duggan) Kinder and Jim (Shannon) Myers.

He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Tim Clifton, Rachel Clifton, Greg Hall, Emily Booker, Nataly Seawel, Eric Pollack, Kurt Fellows, Melissa Fellows, Tyler Kinder, James Griffaw, Clayton Myers, James Myers and Erin Myers.

A private ceremony with full military honors will be held at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.

Memorials are preferred to the Missouri Veterans Home, 2400 Veterans Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
