SIKESTON -- Funeral for Raymond Lewis of Sikeston will be held at 1 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Carl Addison and Larry Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery near Charleston.
Lewis, 85, died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at Clearview Nursing Center.
He was born March 21, 1913, in Wynnburg, Tenn., son of Hennon and Grace Barker Lewis. He first married Aurelius Knight in March 1934. She died Aug. 8, 1969. He later married Pearl Clifft Sanders Nov. 27, 1971.
Lewis was a retired oil jobber, builder and former owner of KYMO Radio Station in East Prairie.
He was formerly of East Prairie and a member of First Baptist Church but attended Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, George Lewis of St. Peters, Billy Lewis of East Prairie; two daughters, Betty Crosier of Sikeston, Lou Wright of Brentwood; a stepdaughter, Sherma Humble of Boonville, Ark.; a sister, Naomi Pyland of Campbell; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
