PUXICO -- Raymond Jackson, 83, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 1996, at the Puxico Nursing Center in Puxico, Mo. He was born May 1, 1913, in Sardis, Miss., son of James and Florence Whitman Jackson. He moved to the Dexter area in 1926, and on Nov. 13, 1935, he married Irene Hoopingarner, who preceded him in death Feb 11, 1994. Two sons also preceded him in death...

PUXICO -- Raymond Jackson, 83, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 1996, at the Puxico Nursing Center in Puxico, Mo.

He was born May 1, 1913, in Sardis, Miss., son of James and Florence Whitman Jackson. He moved to the Dexter area in 1926, and on Nov. 13, 1935, he married Irene Hoopingarner, who preceded him in death Feb 11, 1994. Two sons also preceded him in death.

He was a retired carpenter and farmer, and he was a member of the Pucico First Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons, James Jackson of House Springs and Edward Jackson of Puxico; and two brothers, Bob Jackson of Essex, Mo., and Melvin Jackson of Bowie, Ariz.

Friends may call at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m., with Rev. Marshall Link of Puxico officiating. Burial will follow at the Puxico Cemetery.
