Raymond E. Tibbles, 75, of 118 N. Ellis died Thursday, March 30, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 30, 1919, in St. Louis, son of George and Karoline Gieselmann Tibbles. He married Dorothy Weis Feb. 2, 1946, in St. Louis.
He was president and general manager of the N.O. Nelson Co. in Cape Girardeau since 1955. He was a WWII army veteran and member of the Evangelical Church of Christ.
He was a member of the VFW Post 3838, American Legion Post, Elks Lodge, the Kimbeland Country Club, T.P.A., Booster Club at Southeast Missouri State University, the Copper Dome Society and the SEMO Foundation. He was a former member of the Kiwanis and the Otahkian Girl Scout Council Board.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Gail Smith of Sikeston; three brothers, George Tibbles of Sawyer, Mich., and Harold and Richard Tibbles, both of St. Louis; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau where an Elks service will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral chapel. The Rev. James Caughlin will officiate, with burial at the Memorial Park Mausoleum. American Legion Post 63 will perform graveside rites.
