HARDIN, KY., -- Raymond David Lee, 87, of Hardin, Ky., died Monday, July 8, in the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Ky. He was born Dec. 17, 1908, in East Prairie, son of Luther and Altha Raidt Lee. He lived most of his life in Mississippi County before moving to Hardin. He was employed as a civil engineer and as a Corps engineer in New Madrid County and was a self-employed surveyor for Mississippi County. HARDIN, KY., -- Raymond David Lee, 87, of Hardin, Ky., died Monday, July 8, in the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Ky.

He was born Dec. 17, 1908, in East Prairie, son of Luther and Altha Raidt Lee.

He lived most of his life in Mississippi County before moving to Hardin. He was employed as a civil engineer and as a Corps engineer in New Madrid County and was a self-employed surveyor for Mississippi County. He attended the Nelson United Methodist Church in East Prairie.

He married Mollie Fisher Lee on May 13, 1933.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Bonnie Woods of Hardin and Mollie Jean Sasseen of Jasper, Tenn.; three grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Shelby Chapel with Brother Jerry Willer of the Nelson United Methodist Church in East Prairie officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
