CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Raymond Cook, 89, of Chaffee died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 4, 1921, at Marquand, Mo., son of Robert and Bessie Dees Cook. He and Mildred E. Null were married Nov. 15, 1941.

Raymond retired as an engineer with Frisco Railway/Burlington Northern in Chaffee.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kenneth (Diane) Cook of Chaffee, James Cook of Scott City; a daughter, Leanne (Fred) Flook of Benton, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Dena Milz of Chaffee, Jeffery Cook and Jennifer Hendrix of Scott City, Michael Cook of Cape Girardeau, Marianne Cook of Jackson, Erin Carlton of Imperial, Mo., Rebecca Cook of Chaffee, Sarah Cook of Seymour, Ind.; four great-grandchildren, Garrett Warren of Chaffee, Jordan Cook of Scott City, Carlie Milz of Chaffee, Cameron Hendrix of Scott City; two great-great-grandchildren, Braelyn Sullivan and Cayden Warren of Chaffee; and a sister, Betty Moses of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a granddaughter.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Chaffee.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Mike Davis officiating. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo. Graveside rites will be conducted by Missouri Military Honors.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church in Chaffee.
