MOUNDS, Ill. — Raymond Earl Calvert, 80, of Huntersville, N.C., formerly of Mounds, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at Presbyterian Hospital in Huntersville.
He was born April 13, 1928, in America, Ill., son of Harry and Louella Childers Calvert. He married Pearl Britt.
Calvert served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Phyllis Calvert and Charlotte Piel; two sons, Les and Mark Calvert; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Duard Hurst officiating.
Interment will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, Ill., with military honors conducted by Pulaski County Memorial VFW Post 8891 of Mounds, Cairo VFW Post 2649 and Louis Phares American Legion Post 178 in Villa Ridge.
