Raymond Anthony Burger, 89, of Midlothian, Va., died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond, Va.
He was born Feb. 10, 1915, at Kelso, Mo., son of Charles Anton and Helen Anna Leible Burger. He and Margaret E. Marlin were married Aug. 11, 1934, at Belleville, Ill.
Burger was retired from Metal Craft, a furniture manufacturer, in Azusa, Calif., where he had worked 24 years in upholstery and shipping. He retired in 1978. He attended St. Edwards and Church of the Epiphany Catholic churches in Richmond, Va.
Burger moved to Midlothian from Victorville, Calif., in June 1999. He had lived in California since 1954.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, LaDonne Rae Baron of Midlothian; and three sisters, Alvina Lally, Viola Westrich, Bernice Kagle, all of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and a grandson.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
