McCLURE, Ill. -- Raymond Eugene Baugher, 66, of McClure died Sunday, May 16, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 30, 1933, in McClure, son of James E. and Ruth Backus Baugher.
Baugher had been city marshal, fire chief, and water plant supervisor. He worked at Procter and Gamble 13 years, retiring in 1981 because of ill health.
He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include a son, Raymond Baugher Jr. of Greenville; three daughters, Darla Matlock of McClure, Terri Burd of Anna, Kim Smithey of Oran, Mo.; three brothers, Darrell Baugher of Puxico, Mo., Harold and Richard Baugher of Olive Branch; a sister, Frances Devine of Rock Hill, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Raymond Oxford officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery, with graveside rites by VFW Post 3838 of Cape Girardeau.
