Private service for Raymond Oscar Allison, 3120 Independence, will be held at 2 p.m. today. The Rev. Neil Stein will officiate. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Troy City Cemetery in Troy.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Allison, 91, died Thursday, May 9, 1996, at Chateau Girardeau Health Care Center.

He was born May 28, 1904, in Chicago. He and Eppie Jennings were married May 16, 1929, at Troy.

Allison was an agriculture adviser with the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Africa, Haiti and other countries many years. After retiring he was employed by U.S Army Corps of Engineers. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1987 from McAllen, Texas.

He was a graduate of the University of Missouri. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in McAllen, Masonic Lodge in Troy, was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the Shrine Club.

Survivors include his wife.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and four grandchildren.
