Ray Gerald Gibbar, 78, of Scott City died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 30, 1935, in Lithium, Missouri, to James Lemie and Gertrude McLain Gibbar. He and Aliene Gladys Vincent were married Feb. 12, 1958, in Benton, Missouri. She preceded him in death June 12, 2007.
Ray was an oiler on a riverboat. He volunteered at the Scott City Nutrition Center and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City.
Survivors include two brothers, Leon Gibbar of Cape Girardeau and Kenneth Gibbar of Jackson; and a sister, Dolores Gibbar of Cape Girardeau.
He was also preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery at Commerce, Missouri.
