PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Ray "Bogie" Bodenschatz, 66, of Perryville died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at St. Luke's West Hospital in St. Louis County, Mo.
He was born Nov. 24, 1934, at Belgique, Mo., son of Fred W. and Lydia Verseman Bodenschatz. He and June A. Hagan were married July 9, 1955.
Bodenschatz was a retired heavy equipment operator with Bloomsdale Excavating. He retired as a sergeant major with the National Guard.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, Local 513 Hoisting Engineers Union, and American Legion Boosters.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Randy Bodenschatz of St. Charles, Mo., Rick Bodenschatz of Wildwood, Mo., Roger Bodenschatz of Jefferson City, Mo.; two daughters, Tammy Richardet of Perryville, Tina Hadler of Ellisville, Mo.; three sisters, Leona Dollard and Viola Aronnson of St. Louis, Cordelia "Dale" Darcy of Leslie, Mo.; two brothers, Fred Bodenschatz Jr. of Perryville, Robert Bodenschatz of House Springs, Mo.; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. Friday, and 6:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
