SIKESTON -- Funeral Mass for Ray Edward Baudendistel of rural Sikeston will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Charleston. The Rev. William McGhee will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military graveside rites.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Baudendistel, 50, died Monday, June 21, 1999, of an apparent heart attack while working in Lilbourn.
He was born Nov. 10, 1948, in Cairo, Ill., son of Frank Joseph and Beatrice Renaud Baudendistel. He and Doris Carr were married Aug. 18, 1986.
Baudendistel lived in Scott and Mississippi counties all his life. He was a graduate of St. Henry's High School.
He was a service troubleman with AmerenUE. He was a member of St. Henry's Church and VFW Post 4294. Baudendistel served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Billy Baudendistel of Jackson, Michael Cain of Blytheville, Ark., Jerry Cain of Norfolk, Va.; a daughter, Jeanne Scheffel of Jackson; his mother of Charleston; a sister, Barbara Whiteside of Charleston; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
