SCOTT CITY -- Ray A. "Buddy" Eifert, 70, of Scott City died Saturday, July 12, 1997, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 14, 1926, in Illmo, son of August and Mary Caldwell Eifert. He married Florence August on June 12, 1948. She survives.

He was owner and operator of Eifert's Service Station and a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Illmo United Methodist Church of Scott City, VFW Post 6407 and H.O. Grauel Masonic Lodge 672 of Cape Girardeau.

He is survived by his mother; two sons, Kim Eifert of Scott City and Kris Eifert of Festus; a sister, "Addie B." Pinkston of Kelso; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Scott City. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Jim Woeltje officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 6407 at Lightener Cemetery in Scott City.
