PERRYVILLE -- Raphael F. "Ray" Emmenderfer Sr., 55, of Benld, Ill., died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1993, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Ill.
He was born Aug. 25, 1938, son of Raphael and Elta Sutterer Emmenderfer. He first married Leona Frazer. He later married Sharon Cheney.
Emmenderfer was head meatcutter at National Food Store in Litchfield, Ill., more than 20 years. Prior to that he was meatcutter at Rozier's in Perryville.
He was a member of Meatcutters Local 534, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include a son, Raphael Emmenderfer Jr. of Benld; two daughters, Suzanne Mertz of Benld, Jennifer Emmenderfer of Mt. Olive, Ill.; two brothers, Gary Emmenderfer of Cape Girardeau, Lee Emmenderfer of Perryville; three sisters, Carol Brandel of St. Louis, Margie DeWilde of Perryville, Eileen Lueders of Altenburg, and three grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at Meinschein Funeral Home in Litchfield from 5-8 p.m. today, and at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, and on Friday from 6:30 a.m.-1:45 p.m.
