JACKSON -- Funeral service for Ramon A. Jones of Jackson will be held at 1 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Rodney Travis will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Jim Rainey. Burial will be in Snider Cemetery near Millersville.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until service time.
Jones, 87, died Friday, May 8, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 27, 1904, at Millersville, son of James and Aza Talley Jones. He and Hunter Overbeck were married April 24, 1929. She died Oct. 12, 1987.
Jones retired as bookkeeper from B&H Auto Supply in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, and had been treasurer of Snider Cemetery Association more than 40 years.
Before moving to Jackson he was a member, deacon and Sunday School superintendent at Millersville Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, James Jones of Highland, Ind.; a brother, Paul Jones of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Marjorie Keske of Pima, Ariz., and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters and two brothers.
