Ralph Elwood Trickey, 84, of Great Bend, Kan., formerly of Denver, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend.
He was born July 25, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, son of Irl Everett and Julia Ida Marion Trickey.
Trickey had lived in Great Bend the past four years.
He was a graduate of a Cape Girardeau high school. Trickey was a career military man, entering the service in 1943. He received the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal.
Trickey retired and started another career with Sears. He was a life member of VFW, American Legion and Elks.
Survivors include a brother, Woodrow Trickey of Louisiana; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sons.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. today at Charter Funerals Chapel in Great Bend. Inurnment will be at a later date.
