Ralph Leon Roth, son of the late Ernest and Marie Walter Roth, was born Nov. 6, 1938, in Scott City and departed his life Sunday, July 30, 2023, surrounded by family at his home in Scott City at the age of 84 years.

Roth had served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He had worked at Florsheim Shoe Co. for more than 40 years. Later, he owned and operated Roth Hardware in Scott City for 15 years.

On July 1, 1967, he married Joyce Sander at Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Scott (Michelle) Roth of Cape Girardeau, Greg (Nancy) Roth of Scott City and Austin Roth of Scott City; one daughter, Angela (Charles) Bond of Scott City; two brothers, Richard (Doris) Roth of Scott City and Franklin (Annette) Roth of Scott City; two sisters, Rose Marie Kassel of Frohna, Missouri, and Ernestine (Melvin) Roth of Wittenberg, Missouri; five grandchildren, Sierra Roth, Michael Roth, Destin Roth, Bethany Jun and Kaitlynn Roth; one great-grandson, Grayson; and many nieces and nephews.

Apart from his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Roth.

There will be a private family celebration of life at a later date.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Saint Francis Hospice Care, 211 Saint Francis Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63703.
