PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Ralph R. Romig, 79, of Perryville died Saturday, March 18, 2006, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 11, 1926, in Sedalia, Mo., son of Charles E. and Sadie Clark Romig. He and Betty Fairchild were married June 18, 1950.
Romig was a farm adviser for the University of Illinois in White County, Ill. From 1951 to 1965, he lived in Perryville, where he farmed. After retirement in 1991, he moved back to Perryville. Romig was a member of the United Methodist Church in Perryville, Lions Club, American Legion Post 133, Gideons and was a U.S. Air Force World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, David Romig of O'Fallon, Mo., Charles A. Romig of Wichita, Kan., John C. Romig of Newburgh, Ind.; a daughter, Rebecca Woodrow of Hopkinsville, Ky.; a sister, Ruth Linneman of Keytesville, Mo.; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and four great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.
Friends may call at United Methodist Church in Perryville from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. Monday.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Perryville.
Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Dresden, Mo. The Rev. Rich Piper will officiate.
