DONGOLA, Ill. -- Ralph Eugene Thompson, 49, of Dongola, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1993, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, Mo.
He was born May 19, 1944, at Ava, son of Earl C. and Della Marber Thompson. He and Kay Lingle Burkholder were married Aug. 27, 1985.
Thompson was a truck driver, and member of the United Missionary Baptist Church at Lick Creek.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Matthew Thompson of Carbondale; a daughter, Tamatha Palmer of Dongola; a stepson, Dave Burkholder of Dongola; his mother of Cambria; five brothers, Albert Thompson of Lebanon, Glenn Thompson of Winchester, Tenn., Willard Thompson of Bush, Howard Thompson of Salem, Ronald Thompson of Buncombe; two sisters, Phyllis Denam of Cambria, Joyce Harrison of Blairsville, and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Crain Funeral Chapel in Dongola. The Rev. Randy Morgan will officiate, with burial in Christian Chapel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. today, and on Thursday until service time.
