EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Ralph C. Chance, 67, of East Prairie died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Feb. 23, 1933, in Memphis, Tenn., son of Ervin Lee and Gladys Mae Liley Chance. He married Annie Grace Brewer on Oct. 8, 1955. She survives.
He had lived most of his life in Mississippi County and was a retired farmer. He was a Methodist.
He also is survived by four sons, Ronnie and Randy Chance of East Prairie, Dicky Chance of Ellington, Mo., and Don Chance of Sikeston, Mo.; three daughters, Sharron Bell and Lisa Smith, both of East Prairie, and Theresa Birdwell of Sikeston; a brother, Charles Chance of Labelle, Fla.; a sister, Pat Sue Kemp of Immokalee, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at the Shelby Chapel with Brother George White, pastor of the First Baptist Church in East Prairie, officiating.
Burial will be at the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
