RACHEL SCHEARF

DELTA -- Rachel Schearf, 77, of Delta died Saturday, March 25, 2000, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee.

She was born on Oct. 6, 1922, at Delta, daughter of Homer Russell and Cora Bass Surface. She and Levis F. Schearf were married Oct. 25, 1952.

She worked as a sewing machine operator at Thorngate in Chaffee before retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Delta.

Survivors include her husband of Delta; two brothers, Leslie Surface of Delta and the Rev. Alvie Surface of Rockview; and a sister, Betty Pearman of Rockview.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. today.

Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Kenyon Cemetery at Delta. The Rev. Eric Hodges will officiate.
