WICHITA, Kan. -- Rachel Emma Gillispie died Thursday, July 18, 1996, at the Lakewood Heights Nursing Home in Wichita.
She was born Nov. 13, 1914, in Bonne Terre, daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Lena S. Radle Rhodes.
She married Clyde Baxter Gillispie in Cape Girardeau on July 31, 1943. He died Dec. 16, 1993.
She worked as a cashier and bookkeeper for many years at the Buckner Ragsdale Co.
She moved to Wichita in December 1994 and was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church there. While in Cape Girardeau, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and active in the Ladies Circle.
She is survived by a son, Richard C. Gillispie of Wichita; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and two sisters.
Visitation will be tonight from 7 to 9 at the Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Lorberg Chapel, with the Rev. Don Ford officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
