R. Wayne Lorch, 58, of Bartlett, Ill., was born on March 2, 1943, at Cape Girardeau, the son of Leonard and Claudine Tippett Lorch, and passed away Oct. 11, 2001, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Ill. Wayne was a retired management supervisor; he had worked for U.S. Steel Corp. in Chicago, Ill., for 18 years. He was a 1961 graduate of Advance High School where he was an all-state basketball player...

R. Wayne Lorch, 58, of Bartlett, Ill., was born on March 2, 1943, at Cape Girardeau, the son of Leonard and Claudine Tippett Lorch, and passed away Oct. 11, 2001, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Ill.

Wayne was a retired management supervisor; he had worked for U.S. Steel Corp. in Chicago, Ill., for 18 years. He was a 1961 graduate of Advance High School where he was an all-state basketball player.

He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1966 with a B.S. in civil engineering. He was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Wayne, Ill. Wayne loved hunting, fishing and basketball.

Wayne and Marilyn Gallo were united in marriage on Aug. 23, 1975 at Chicago, Ill., and she survives of the home.

Other survivors include his mother, Claudine Lorch of Advance, Mo.; a son, Mark Wayne Lorch of Bartlett, Ill.; a daughter, Cara Marie Lorch of Chicago; two brothers and sister-in-laws, Dennis and Sharon Lorch of Advance and David and Audrey Lorch of Advance.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Lorch, and a brother, Michael Lorch.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance.

Father Frederick Lutz will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Advance School Foundation or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
