R. Sondra Pobst, 75, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021, after a hard battle fighting lung cancer.
She was born to Clyde Mason and Rita Brotherton on Aug. 2, 1945, in Oran, Missouri.
Sondra was a member of the St. Mary's Cathedral, a hairstylist in Cape Girardeau from 1975 to 2015, and belonged to many quilting guilds.
She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Neater of Cape Girardeau; sons, Rodney and Randy Pobst, both of Cape Girardeau; sister, Billie Davis of Ironton, Missouri; two half sisters, Patty Turner and Penny Luttrell; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Sondra was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joseph Pobst; brothers, Ronnie Mason and Richard, Larry and Mark Hatley; half brother, John Mason; and half sisters, Janet Edmonston and Judi Lynn.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the American Lung Association in her memory.
Graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Oran, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. There will be a gathering of friends and family immediately following at Grecian Steakhouse in Cape Girardeau.
A memorial Mass will be at 8 a.m. Aug 2 at St Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.
