W. Quentin Felty, 96, of Millersville passed away Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Jackson Manor.
He was born April 13, 1917, in Millersville, son of Walter and Myrtie Limbaugh Felty. He and Virginia Summers were married Dec. 21, 1938, at Marble Hill, Mo.
Quentin farmed all his life in the Millersville area. He was a lifelong member of Fairview United Methodist Church near Millersville and served as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent many years. He served as memorial card chairman for Gideons International several years. Quentin was secretary and treasurer at Fairview Memorial Cemetery and was a board member of Gordonville Mutual Insurance Co.
Loving survivors include his wife of 74 years, Virginia; a son, Virgil (Loudeen) Felty of Millersville; two daughters, Carol (Jim) Sawyer of O'Fallon, Mo., Saundra (Don) Crader of Marble Hill; five grandchildren, Sherri Berry, Debra (Colin) Fjerstad, Randy (Paula) Sawyer, Tom (Kim) Sawyer and Dean (Chris) Sawyer; 12 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Jessica and Justin Sawyer, Kurtis and Amy Fjerstad, Kellie, Sarah and Rachel Berry, Cassidy and Shelby Sawyer, Amber Archer and Quentin Sawyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Alt, Webster, Edwin and Kermit Felty.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Sawyer and the Rev. Jimmy Corbin officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery at Millersville.
