Priscilla Clippard

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Priscilla Ann Clippard, 78, of Advance passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 29, 1935, in Ripley County, Missouri, daughter of Raymond and Judy Sawyer Crook. She and Charles Clippard were married May 20, 1956, in Ripley County.

Priscilla graduated as high school valedictorian in Grandin, Missouri. She received a degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University.

She was a teacher at numerous schools in Cape Girardeau and St. Louis. She was a member of Bethel General Baptist Church near Advance.

Survivors include her husband; a son, James Clippard of Houston; a daughter, Mary Jane Clippard of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Paul Crook of Colorado and Claude Crook of Amaretto, Texas; a sister, Nellie Haider of Roswell, New Mexico; and two grandchildren, Alexander and McKenzie Clippard.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
