EAST PRAIRIE -- Pollard Finley, 71, of East Prairie died Friday, Dec. 19, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 1, 1922, the son of the late Charlie Finley and Dora Kathleen Pollard Simpkins. On May 16, 1942, he married Vivian Nunn, who survives of the home.

He lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He retired from the Brown Shoe Company in Charleston after 23 years of employment. He also owned and operated Finley's Lawnmower Sales and Repair, and Finley's Car Wash. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army.

Other survivors include three daughters, Glenda Venarsky of Mascoutah, Ill., and Betty Archie and Paula Byassee, both of East Prairie; a half-brother, Earl D. Simpkins of East Prairie; a step-brother, J.T. Simpkins of East Prairie; a sister, Lorene Bailey of East Prairie; two step-sisters, Louise Melton of San Diego, Calif. and Marie Abner of East Prairie; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. Martin Lucas will officiate, and burial will be in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
