EAST PRAIRIE -- P.L. Carlyle, 68, of East Prairie died Friday, June 27, 1996, in the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston of an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 25, 1927, in Millageville, Tenn., son of Pleasant L. and Hester E. Wyatt Carlyle. He and Bonnie L. Weems were married Oct. 1, 1949.
He spent most of his life in Mississippi County, where he was a retired heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church in East Prairie.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Bobby Carlyle of Cape Girardeau; Phillip, Allen and Marty Carlyle, all of East Prairie; and Scott Carlyle of Imperial; three daughters, Connie Crocker, Bonita Patrick and June Allen, all of East Prairie, 21 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, sister and half-brother.
The body is at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where funeral services are incomplete.
