ARCADIA, Mo. -- Phyllis Ann Wildy Pecord, 78, of Arcadia, formerly of Miller City, Illinois, passed away at 5:55 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at South Brook Nursing Home in Farmington, Missouri, after an extended illness.

Phyllis was born June 6, 1938, daughter of the late Robert "Bob" and Pearl Corbett Wildy.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bobby" Pecord, on Dec. 28, 2013.

Phyllis was a retired bookkeeper, medical-records clerk and a notary. She and Bobby owned and operated Sleepy's Lounge and Campground for 15 years in the Horse Shoe Lake area.

She was a past member of the Alexander-Pulaski County Sportmen's Club, Horse Shoe Lake Chamber of Commerce and a board member of Dodge Memorial Library in Olive Branch, Illinois.

Phyllis was loved and well respected by all who knew her. She was an animal lover, fisherman, sky diver, powder puff race car driver and a Girl Scout leader. She loved attending school and sporting events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Rosetta Keith of the home; a stepdaughter, Kim Collins of Cobden, Illinois; a stepson, Gaynes (Sandy) Pecord of Dongola, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Keith, Sara (D.J.) Partida, Lacy (Ryan) Turner, Jacob Pecord, Gabriel Pecord, Elijah Pecord, Ashley Crawford and Brittany Bean; six great-grandchildren, Kalia Keith, Kaiden Keith, Rollin Turner, Kayden Turner, Reece Turner and Addison Sneed; brother-in-law, Merlin (Jean) Pecord; sister-in-law, Linda (Otis) Burris; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City, Illinois, with the Rev. Scott Edgar officiating. Interment will follow. Family and friends are asked to meet Friday prior to service time at the cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to Dodge Memorial Library in Olive Branch, IL 62969, in memory of Phyllis Pecord.
