Phyllis Ann Maevers, 80, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, March, 7, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Phyllis was born July, 1, 1941, in Cape Girardeau to Edward and Erna Sander Spalding. Phyllis and Dale Gene Maevers were married on Feb. 6, 1960, at Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and confirmed. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from College High School in Cape Girardeau.
She was a homemaker, raising two daughters. Phyllis was passionate about her family and sharing time with them. She enjoyed anything involving her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many fond memories were made traveling to Florida with her family and sitting around the kitchen table at Sunday dinners.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Debra Ford and Connie (Rob) Hengst of Cape Girardeau; two granddaughters, Ashley (B.J.) Tanksley of Ashland, Missouri, and Rachel (Tyler) Pennington of Troy, Illinois; three great-grandchildren, Abigail Grace Tanksley, William Charlie Tanksley and Caroline Clarie Pennington; and one sister, Kay (Kenneth) Maevers.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edward Spalding; and sisters, Ruby Leach, Nora Lee Seabaugh and Shirley Ates.
A private family service with entombment will be held at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran School.
