OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Phyllis Allison, 80, of Olive Branch, formerly of Streator, Illinois, died at 4:46 p.m., Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Phyllis was born Feb. 21, 1938, in Dixon, Illinois, the daughter of Wilbur Leigh and Mable Pearl Schuler Stauffer. She and Wilbur Allison married March 30, 1996...

OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Phyllis Allison, 80, of Olive Branch, formerly of Streator, Illinois, died at 4:46 p.m., Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Phyllis was born Feb. 21, 1938, in Dixon, Illinois, the daughter of Wilbur Leigh and Mable Pearl Schuler Stauffer. She and Wilbur Allison married March 30, 1996.

She was a member of the Alexander Free Will Baptist Church, the ladies auxiliary at the church and the Thebes, Illinois, Historical Society. Phyllis retired as the owner and operator of a private care nursing home.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Wilbur Allison of Olive Branch; a son, Fred (Mary) Mueller of Streator; daughters, Amy (Tim) Jane Strawn of Lincoln, Illinois, and Laurie (Jim) Stephens and Linda (Todd) Stephens, both of Streator; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ann Pfeiffer of Dixon; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Bonnie Lewis; brothers, Leroy, Marshall, Bobby and Donnie Stauffer; and grandson, James.

Private inurnment will be at Mount Zion Cemetery near Olive Branch.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Illinois, is in charge of arrangements.
