DUQUOIN, Ill. -- Phillip Stewart Kuntz, 62, of DuQuoin died Tuesday, July 11, 2006, from injuries sustained in a train/truck accident in April. DUQUOIN, Ill. -- Phillip Stewart Kuntz, 62, of DuQuoin died Tuesday, July 11, 2006, from injuries sustained in a train/truck accident in April.

Phil was born Aug. 15, 1943, in Jeffersonville, Ind., son of Walter and Margaret Kuntz. He and Frances Engelhart were married Oct. 29, 2005, in Pinckneyville, Ill.

Mr. Kuntz retired from the U.S. Forest Service, was a former music teacher, and recently worked at Gilster-Mary Lee. He attended Trinity Assembly of God in Pinckneyville.

He was a member of King City Beagle Club, was a beagle breeder, and loved running his dogs.

Survivors include his wife, Fran of DuQuoin; a son, Robbie D. Kuntz of St. Louis; father-in-law and mother-in-law, J. Charles and Joy Engelhart; two brothers-in-law, Dirk (Pat) Engelhart, Paul (Carol) Engelhart; and five nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Assembly of God.

Memorial donations may be made to the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation.
