Philip Slinkard

WHITEWATER -- Philip Lee "Laddie" Slinkard, 65, of Whitewater died at the family home Monday morning, July 14, 2003. He was born at Allenville, Jan. 18, 1938, to the late Melvin and Juanita Pennington Slinkard. He married Shirley Evans March 8, 1958.

Laddie was an over-the-road truck driver for four years. He was a concrete finisher with the local union for more than 25 years. He was an avid horse rider for more than 25 years. He was a member of the Jackson Trail Riders for a number of years.

Survivors include his wife; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Tracy Slinkard of Chaffee, Mo.; one sister, Joyce Moore of Delta; four grandchildren, Ryan Slinkard, Cory Slinkard, Kathelyn Slinkard and McKenzie Slinkard, all of Chaffee.

One son, Richard Alan Slinkard, also preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.
