Philip W. "Peaches" Halter, 64, of Jackson passed away suddenly Monday, Dec. 2, 2019. He would have turned 65 a week later on Dec. 9.
Philip was the son of the late Vincent "Peachy" and Pearl Lusk Halter. He was born Dec. 9, 1954.
He attended Jackson High School. Philip enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger days. He liked watching "Judge Judy" and "Court TV."
He worked at Sunny Hill Restaurant, Florsheim Shoe factory and then at Lee-Rowan (Rubber Maid).
His greatest passion was entering sweepstakes on a daily basis. He won many gifts and would give many of them away to family and friends. He donated books to the Chaffee Library as well.
Philip was of the Catholic faith. He was very kind, smart and loving.
He is survived by uncles, Harold and Charles Halter; aunt, Lorene Sykes; many cousins throughout the states and countless friends.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward Halter; sister-in-law, Joyce; and nephew, Brian.
A graveside service was held at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City, where Philip was laid to rest next to his parents.
Memorial donations may be sent to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation in honor of Brian Halter or to Meals on Wheels.
Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
