DEXTER, Mo. -- Marion "Pete" Fowler, 55, of Dexter died Monday, Nov. 11, 2000, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 31, 1945, near Gray Ridge, Mo., son of Albert and Arel Wilson Fowler. He and Linda Sue Brown were married Jan. 10, 1964, at Dudley, Mo.
Fowler was a foreman with Millington Trucking Co., and owner/operator of Fowler Trucking Co. in Dexter. He attended Vinson and New Hope General Baptist Churches, was a member of Dexter Elks Lodge and Eagles Aeries at Dexter and Sikeston, Mo.
He moved to Dexter in 1964 from Gray Ridge.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Tim Fowler of Dexter; four brothers, Albert Fowler of Gray Ridge, Bobby Fowler of Dexter, Joe Fowler of St. Charles, Jim Fowler of Gardiner, Mont.; a sister, Judith Ray of Blytheville, Ark.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a brother, and a sister.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Doyle Corlew officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery at Essex.
