Perry Elmer Cook, 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Marble Hill, Mo. He was born Aug. 20, 1931, at Mayfield, Mo., son of Elza Elmer and Maude Fulbright Cook. He and Bessie Ruth Stratton were married Dec. 5, 1951...

Perry Elmer Cook, 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Marble Hill, Mo.

He was born Aug. 20, 1931, at Mayfield, Mo., son of Elza Elmer and Maude Fulbright Cook. He and Bessie Ruth Stratton were married Dec. 5, 1951.

Perry was a mechanic at Rueseler Chevrolet and Simpson Buick before operating his own garage. He attended Mount Zion Church, was former caretaker of Mount Zion Cemetery many years and helped take care of Arrowhead Camp Ground.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie of Marble Hill; a son, Duane E. Cook of Marble Hill; two daughters, Katherine Linnette Cook and Peggy Joann Rauh of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul Cook.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Friday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ray Greenlee and the Rev. John Nimmo officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Scopus, Mo.
