HAYWOOD CITY -- Percy White, 86, of Haywood City, died Saturday, May 11, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Nov. 26, 1909, in Mississippi, son of George and Lena White. He and Nellie Mae Hampton were married in September 1937.
White was a member of Greer's Chapel Baptist Church near Sikeston, and served on the Deacons Board.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Eddie White of St. Louis, Percy Jr. and Larry White of Sikeston; six daughters, Willie Chamberlain of Essex, Lue Derring of Los Angeles, Calif., Bird Thomas and Bernice Hamilton of St. Louis, Geneva Taylor of Sikeston, Margrette White of Haywood City; 35 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sons.
Friends may call at Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home in Sikeston from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Greer Chapel Church, with the Rev. Willie Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Sunset of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
