Peggy Lott Tirmenstein, lovely as ever at 77, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, as the sun rose.
She was born June 9, 1932, to Jeanette and Jimmie Lott in Memphis, Tenn. In 1952 Peg married her childhood sweetheart, and for the next 57 years she brought warmth, light and laughter into their family.
She loved to cook and entertain; whether volunteering at church or hosting celebrations in her kitchen, she had the gift of hospitality and the ability to make everyone feel at home. Today, she is at home, rejoicing with her savior and making heavenly cream puffs for the loved ones she awaits.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Martine Goodin Tirmenstein, formerly of Benton, Mo.; a daughter, Laurie; three sons, Chris, Les, Greg and wife Cathy; a sister, Vicki and husband Donn; six grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews; and multitudes of precious friends, including her beloved Daffy Dozen and Magnificent Seven.
Darling wife, devoted mother, sweet grandmother and dear friend to so many, "Mimi" was the life of the party and a living example of God's eternal grace. Her spirit will be greatly missed, but her love shines bright and beautiful. She's entertaining angels now.
The funeral will be held today at 3 p.m. at Faith Bible Church, 1437 West Pleasant Run Road, DeSoto, Texas, 75115. Interment will be in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Faith Bible Church.
