Peggy Lee Webster Moreno passed away peacefully Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 72. She was born April 10, 1951, in Alexander County, Illinois, to Charles David and Barbara Thompson Webster. She graduated from Egyptian Senior High School in 1969 in Tamms, Illinois. Peggy Lee Webster Moreno passed away peacefully Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau at the age of 72.

She was born April 10, 1951, in Alexander County, Illinois, to Charles David and Barbara Thompson Webster.

She graduated from Egyptian Senior High School in 1969 in Tamms, Illinois. She attended Shawnee Community College’s nursing program and became a certified nurse assistant and later graduated to become a licensed practical nurse.

Peggy had two daughters from a previous marriage, Shonda and Tonya. On June 12, 1982, Peggy married Alfredo A. “Fred” Moreno at Sandusky Assembly of God Church in Sandusky, Illinois. Together they had one daughter, Gina. She loved her daughters with all of her heart.

She loved horseback riding and crocheting with her close cousin, Patty. She also loved to write stories. She loved the Lord and tried to live her best life. She told Patty, “I just want to make it. Just being there and praise the Lord in all His beauty. Singing at the top of my lungs is want I want.”

She is survived by her three daughters, Shonda Crisp, Tonya (Irving) Cockrell and Gina Moreno; grandchildren, Toni Crisp, Tyli Harp, Haven Cockrell, Maya Bayes and Bella Bayes; great-grandson, Dax W. Cummins; brother, Matt David Webster; and nephew, Jacob (Mariah) Webster, and their children, Makenzie, Alexander, Nicholas and Noah.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Moreno, and her parents, Charles and Barbara Webster.

A service will be held at a later date.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
