Peggy J. Maxwell, 82, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Nov. 22, 1927, in Caruthersville, Mo., to John T. Oxford and Blanch Geneva Bell. She married O.T. Maxwell, who preceded her in death.
Maxwell was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where she played the organ and piano many years.
Survivors include a son, Larry Johnston of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Bill Oxford of Cape Girardeau, the Rev. Raymond Oxford of McClure, Ill.; two sisters, Marjorie Rendleman of Jonesboro, Ill., Pansy Huffman of Jackson, Ga.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.
Friends may call 9 a.m. to service time Friday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond Oxford officiating. Burial will follow at Lindsey Cemetery in McClure.
