Peggy Locke, 90, of Jackson passed away at 9:48 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born March 8, 1930 in Fornfelt to the late Raymond and Fern David Childs. She was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. She married Harold Locke Jr., on March 1, 1951. Peggy Locke, 90, of Jackson passed away at 9:48 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 8, 1930 in Fornfelt to the late Raymond and Fern David Childs. She was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. She married Harold Locke Jr., on March 1, 1951. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend to many.

While raising her children, Peggy was involved in a birthday club, a luncheon club and a bridge club, all of which she enjoyed with good friends.

In 1984 Peggy and Harold moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. While Harold was working out at the gym, Peggy was manager of three Gilbert Ortega Galleries for 20 years, where she thoroughly enjoyed the American Indian art and jewelry, along with her relationships with the artists and her clients. The couple returned back to their hometown of Cape Girardeau in 2005 to be closer to family.

Her survivors include a son, David (Kathryn) Locke of Jackson; daughter, Tracy Schott of Decherd, Tennessee; granddaughter, Victoria Locke of Jackson; grandson, Justin Schott of Manchester, Tennessee; grandson, Jordan Schott of Jonesboro, Illinois; and two great-grandsons, River and Mason of Tennessee.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Locke Jr.; her parents, Raymond and Fern David Childs; brother, David Paul Childs; grandparents, aunts and uncles and a cousin.

Peggy's family would like to thank the staff of the Monticello House in Jackson for its compassion and care during her stay there.

A private celebration of life will be held at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.

Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
