ORAN, Mo. -- Pearl L. Roberts, 83, of Oran passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 31, 1923, at Malden, Mo., to Arvil C. and Mary Ellen Gage Weaver. She married Louis W. Roberts June 12, 1940, at Jaye, Mo.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years; three sons, Louis E. (Patricia Jane) Roberts of Riverside, Calif., Ronnie G. (Paula) Roberts of Farmington, Mo., Garry W. Roberts of Brooksville, Fla.; four daughters, E. Eugenia (Jeannie) Boxdorfer of Jackson, Sharon R. Horvath of Oceanside, Calif., Shirley J. (Robert) Turner of Marble Hill, Mo., Donna S. (Charles) Glueck of Oak Ridge; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Also three half brothers; a half sister; a brother-in-law, Harold (Minnie) Roberts of Benton Harbor, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Effie Sharman of Hope, Ark.; many nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Barbara Louise; five brothers, Marion, Mann and Albert Weaver, Leonard and Johnny Graves; and two half brothers.
Pearl worked 16 years at the former International Hat Co. in Oran. She was a faithful and loyal member of Oran Trinity United Methodist Church, church choir, Sunshine Club, and the United Methodist Women of which she served as treasurer many years. She also made crafts to benefit the Easter Seals Society.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 4 p.m. Friday.
The funeral will be at Oran Trinity United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Don Gandt officiating. Burial will follow in Friend Cemetery at Oran.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church of Oran.
