EAST PRAIRIE -- Pearl Phipps, 89, of East Prairie died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at East Prairie Nursing Center.
She was born March 8, 1910, in East Prairie, daughter of Willie and Josie Gardner Pool. She and Clarence Rollen Phipps were married in 1934. He died June 27, 1976.
A lifelong resident of East Prairie, she was a member of First General Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Clarence Phipps of Monroe, N.Y., Winford Phipps of Tullahoma, Tenn.; two daughters, Virginia Gulledge of Granite City, Ill., Imogene Suedmeyer of Sikeston; three brothers, Paul Pool of Bonne Terre, Jack Pool of East Prairie, Clifton Pool of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Frankie Washburn of Caruthersville; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 6 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Bob Williams officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
