Pearl Martin

CHOCTAW, Okla. -- Pearl Martin, 85, of Choctaw died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at her home.

She was born March 31, 1923, in Ogden, Utah, daughter of Clarence Henry and Pearl Daisy Sparks Flinders. She and Dorsey L. Martin were married Jan. 15, 1944, in Evanston, Wyo.

Martin worked at Brown Shoe Co. in Fredericktown, Mo., more than 25 years, and Sabine Manufacturing in Many, La., more than 15 years.

Survivors include two sons, Dorsey Martin of Choctaw, Richard Martin of Perryville, Mo.; a sister, Barbara Skidmore of Utah; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sister, and three brothers.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Choctaw. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw.

Hibbs Funeral Home in Choctaw is in charge of arrangements.
