Pearl May Gearing, 97, Fountainbleau Lodge, died Wednesday, June 12, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 29, 1893, in Jonesboro, Ill., daughter of John Michael and Penina Hill Dover. She married Joseph Clarence Gearing Nov. 20, 1909. He died in December 1938.

She was a seamstress, and member of First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two sons, the Rev. John Gearing and Stacy Gearing of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Wanda Fiesler of Scott City, Evelyn Gearing of Cape Girardeau; a half sister, Beulah Phillips of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, daughter, great-great-granddaughter, brother and three half brothers.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. Jimmie Burroughs will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park here.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
